Hotel Cariongo pays tribute to the indigenous culture of Pamplona and names its restaurants Chitarero and Hulago.

The Chitareros Indians are the original inhabitants of the mountains surrounding our city. Of medium height, flat face, big mouth, thick feet, robust trunk, coppery skin, abundant and dark straight hair, the Chitareros belong to the Chibcha indigenous group.

It is believed that more than 1500 years before the colony, the Chitareros were located in a valley of the Sucre River that they themselves baptized Hulago, the indigenous name of the city of Pamplona.

The Chitarero Restaurant has two areas, an interior space overlooking the Plazuela Almeyda and a covered terrace overlooking our beautiful garden. Accessible by elevator, Chitarero is located on the second floor of the hotel. La Paticería Hulago is located on the second floor at the main entrance of the hotel and has an outdoor terrace and an indoor space in the lobby between the reception and our game room.

Both restaurants offer their varied menus to both guests and the Pamplona community.
