Águeda Gallardo Villamizar House Museum
A testament to the political history of Pamplona and Colombia, Casa Águeda was built in 1644 following the earthquake that devastated the city. This National Monument honors Águeda Gallardo de Villamizar, who was perhaps the most important heroine of the country's independence.
The significance of this historic house lies primarily in the gatherings and planning of the passionate political and ideological efforts that sparked major events, such as Colombia's First Cry of Independence on July 4, 1810. It currently serves as the home of the University of Pamplona's virtual library.
